Andy Garvey and DJ Scorpion

DJ Scorpion and Andy Garvey are two prominent figures who have left an indelible mark on the Australian music scene. With a shared passion for fostering local musical excellence and community, they have not only carved their unique paths but also co-founded the NECTAR agency, a collaborative effort alongside Jemma Cole (Soft Centre) and Natalia (FBi Radio).

DJ Scorpion is the solo project of Amelia Jenner, label boss and radio host of cult Australian electronic label Body Promise and co-founder of the NECTAR agency. As Body Promise she spins the hottest bangers and champions local artists; as a co-founder and member of Nectar she throws some of the most considered parties and events Sydney has to offer.

Her solo DJ guise is the rarest emergence of them all and one of the most exciting of her forms. Scorp moves at a breakneck pace across genres, leaning towards driving rhythmic tracks built for the floor that are both fresh and refined. Taking a darker and more twisted approach, you can expect anything from jungle, DnB, IDM, deep techno, and big euphoric face melters, the likes of which can be seen through her mixes for Bizarro (named one of Resident Advisor’s mixes of the month), Melbourne Deepcast, Red Light Radio and Animalia. 2019 saw her undertake her debut Australian tour which included a slot at the now iconic Freedom Time festival in Perth on New Years Eve.

Since making the move to Naarm in 2022, Scorp has gone on to play some of the hottest parties in town including Inner Varnika, Mutations and main support for DJ Nobu and securing a regular spot on Skylab Radio.

With a decade-long journey, Andy Garvey has carved her place as a true icon in the Australian music landscape. Her multifaceted roles as a music producer, esteemed radio host, label owner of Pure Space, and co-founder of NECTAR showcase her dedication to the scene's growth.

Andy's sonic creativity shines through releases such as her 2019 debut EP 'Eternal Recurrence,' applauded by Resident Advisor for its blend of techno and electro. Subsequent EPs on respected labels like Lobster Theremin and X-Kalay have solidified her musical journey. Her influential role hosting triple j’s Mix Up and her discerning taste have resonated with audiences across the nation.
