Alec Falconer

Alec Falconer is a DJ and Producer from Kent, UK. He started his first label in 2011 and claims to have been waiting on at least one record from at least one pressing plant ever since. His most recent vinyl project is a distribution company that he runs with Dr Banana called Ba Dum Tish. It is a small network of one-offs, labels and aliases from friends.

As a producer, Alec made his first release in 2017 with New Junk City which went straight into the record bags of Nicolas Lutz, Slow Life & Eris Drew to name a few. The latter even re-issued the highly sought-after record on her Fabric compilation with Octo Octa in 2020.

Before setting up Ba Dum Tish, Alec released on labels including Art of Dark and Orbital London but now he reserves his productions exclusively for self-release on the labels of Ba Dum Tish. You will also find Alec’s production work under aliases. The most well known is Phone Traxxx with Harry Wills and Rob Amboule. The rest require a little more digging.

Alec has been lucky enough to play gigs in some of the best clubs in the world. His sound – which switches from rolling house to garage and breaks – always has a UK flavour. And there is certainly no denying a love for some warm chords and the odd vocal.

Alec has been a Rinse resident since 2019, his show is an upbeat mix of old house and garage records with a sprinkling of newer contributions and of course plenty of un-ID-able dubs.
