Connection to Country

Subsonic Music acknowledges the country we will gather on, the Worimi people and their ancestors, who have been caring for and nurturing this Country since the beginning. They are the traditional custodians of the land (barray), river (bami) and sky of where Subsonic Music Festival takes place.

We understand that we must treat Country with the same respect as the ancestors that were always guided and cared for by this Country, and we ask all attendees to share this commitment with us. It is a great privilege that we are able to dance, share stories, connect with each other and our surroundings in this Country, as the Worimi people have always done. We acknowledge the Worimi’s unbroken connection to land and culture, and pay our respects to all elders and ancestors. Sovereignty was never ceded.

This always will be Worimi Land.
