As a multi-talented presence in QLD’s music landscape, Walker resists genre-defining labels and channels the spirit of openness that was once the default in electronic music.

Walker’s talent breathes its way through his musical output. “Music is always evolving, nothing stands still....And that’s exactly how I like it”.

His artistic perspective comes from a life thoroughly lived, and his talent comes from an obsession in finding a way to express it.

Walker has played for iconic venues and established brands that are the backbone of the Australian dance music ecosystem. Elsewhere (Gold Coast), SASH (Brisbane & Sydney), Bodywork (Sydney), Dragonfruit (Brisbane), Lemon & Lime (Brisbane), SummerLoop (Brisbane), OneSixOne (Melbourne), Storyville (Melbourne), Method Project @ Sussudio (Sydney), Deep Cargo (Melbourne) and many more. A career that has spanned just over a decade.

“My first loves will always be house, disco and techno, and that’s what I’ve become known for, but there’s much more freedom when we paint outside of the lines, and find a way to forge all of my tastes into the one cohesive groove set. Stripped back, quirky, vibrant, colourful, I am looking to deliver unique dance floor experiences”, he explains in a recent interview with the Dance Culture Vibe podcast.

Walker approached the industry by creating events that cater to a more niche audience in his earlier days. These events, called "Sookyfuq" (ran in conjunction with Impact Events) provided a safe haven across QLD and Northern NSW for house & techno enthusiasts to enjoy a more pure experience in a region not typically known for traditional house and techno music. When asked why he feels compelled to manage events, build the scene’s infrastructure and nurture new talent, Walker is of the view that “A rising tide lifts all boats”.

His deep house releases on Buxton have been guided in part by label owner Adam Swain. The two have shared endless discussions on how meaning is created through music and the way in which Buxton bring it to their releases. One of Walker's releases via Buxton Records, "Love generated through perseverance" received some high profile air time by world-class DJ & Producer, Dennis Ferrer, during one of his Boiler Room sets. Walker enjoys a DJ residency each month at his local social club, Elsewhere. "This is my favourite room and booth to play in the country! In my opinion, it is one of the top 5 clubs in Australia. Not many clubs sit in that top tier of club-royalty in Australia for consistency audiences, years of operation and music policy". Elsewhere is a venue that he considers to be the Gold Coast creative hub where “My relationships, profile and creative brain are tickled each week!”.
