Wildly writing from personal experience and feeling, her sights are always set on offering a sense of understanding a representation.
Her influences span from contemporary icons like Billie Eilish and Gracie Abrams to legendary voices such as Blondie and The Cranberries. Growing up in a musical household, Mathilde’s limbs, and soul, are steeped in music from all genres and eras.
Fresh from her recent trip to the Hawaii Songwriting Festival, where she placed in the Top 6 of the international songwriting competition and gained strong industry recognition, 22-year-old singer-songwriter Mathilde Anne is proud to reveal her next chapter: a new intermission project -Cigarettes and Anxious Sex (EP) - due for release in late 2025.
Her debut album Normal was released in 2024 to critical acclaim. With support from Music Works (Creative Victoria) and the Performing Arts Development Fund (Mornington Peninsula Shire), she is now working on her sophomore record. Cigarettes and Anxious Sex is the creative bridge between these two worlds - a bold, intimate EP that captures a moment of transformation.
