BRODRIGUEZ DZ

Hi my name is Brodie and I DJ as BRODRIGUEZ. Im 34 years old and I grew up in Terrigal on the central coast of NSW.

I started really getting into house music and DJing around 2014 after getting a last minute ticket to Subsonic with a few of my friends that DJ'd and ran parties in our home town.

That first Subsonic blew my mind, from that moment on I was obsessed with electronic music and learning to DJ properly. I played around our home area a bit after getting my first gigs through my mates Dave Withers and Michael Oates who ran the CABAL Party brand at the time.

By 2018 I had moved to Europe and thought about chasing a few gigs over there. After attending Defected Croatia in 2018 I decided to put a mix together to enter their DJ competition for the 2019 edition of the festival and ended up winning a slot. I guess whatever I put together for the festival in 2019 hit the spot for the crew listening and I ended up getting invited back the following year. Was a pretty amazing series of events that basically all came about because I went to that first Subsonic in 2014.

Since getting back from Europe in 2021 I've continued to obsessively collect vinyl, record mixes whenever I can and continue to travel and expand my perspective on the broader house scene.

I've actually just got home from 5 weeks in Europe for LOVE international and was feeling super inspired by the music I heard there and in Berlin. Really loved putting this mix together for the Subsonic Community Spotlight, hope you enjoy.
