RifRaf aka djOI




Here is a little story about RifRaf or dj OI, NOT RIFFRAFF...

RifRaf is Rafael Gimelstein, an established music producer, dj, promoter &

entrepreneur. Raf was born in Lithuania (Vilnius), raised in Israel, flowered in

Sydney/Australia and fruited in Berlin bring together a wealth of musical

knowledge, exclusive collaborations and spirituality.


Following 10 years of classical violin, RifRaf has become a name you can see

playing weekly across Europe, Asia and Australia, festivals and clubs, fashion

shows and underground private events as well as his unique mixes for vegan

eateries around the world..




In 2008 Rafael released his debut 12" on BEEF records - Audio Chip with

Hirtenfellner (Sascha Braemer) and Shades of Gray remixes. This release

reached #7 on Beatport charts..2009 saw him relocate to Berlin, collaborating with

many artists including Jay Haze, Daze Maxim, Losoul to name a few.. In 2011

RifRaf had few more successful releases on prestige labels such as Tonkind,

Upon.you, Regular records.. His 12" was on nr1 buzz charts of decks.de


Currently Rafael is one of the founders of Cvi Parkas in Vilnius, co creators of

Unity the Meeting place gathering in Australia, running OI Global with wide range

of activities including OI Camps at various festivals and sacred sites around the

globe, Diffusion parties @ Sydney, Melbourne and Europe and the micro gathering

Escape Human Zoo. Raf is also affiliated with Multi Culti family and had a release

under his pseudo - djOI...This collaboration with Dreems and with a touch of Lum

remix has created superslow dance-floor monster. Raf had an EP on Parallel

Records with Analog Cabin team and a remix from Jay Haze. On the way, djOI is

more affiliated with slow and tribal sound, as well organising and playing at

various events including ecstatic dance sessions at Burning Seed Australia and

Baltic Burn, as well as his own curated events in Lithuania.

Raf’s creative journey is continuing, joining Gaia family in Lithuania, Signal festival

in Bali, Closer club in Ukraine, Riversound studios in Lithuania, as well as playing

and producing electronic and instrumental music. He has also a monthly show on

Radiovilnius.live
