Booty, Juke, Stripped-down drums & Acid-squelch is where Addison Groove tweaks out of his dubstep alias of Headhunter and is Addison Groove. Self-professed on Soundcloud as ‘bass shit’ he’s sure to get the hardest of bass-faces melting.
Some producers switch-out genres to cash in on the trends, but Anthony Williams is on the money and pushing the sounds. His Midas touch brought us the anthem ‘Footcrab’ and signalled the emergence of footwork into UK Bass. He has continued on with strength, honing his skills from his first full album release on Modeselektor’s 50Weapons imprint, Transistor Rhythm and now his latest, 2014’s ‘James Grieve Presents’, is another long-play polished studio-work, bringing together former collaborators, Sam Binga and DJ Die, and a nod to his town of Bristol.
Addison Groove is a bass-curator, the likes of which Linkwood is to house. Versatile and knowledgeable across a range of musical influences, his sets cross from lush female vocals to squelching acid pinches, weaving a dance-floor session you have to keep stepping to.
